Common Questions

At Harmony Recovery, we understand that there are questions that anyone entering treatment will have. We have prepared a set of frequently asked questions for you to better understand the process of addiction treatment and what to expect when you arrive.

What will my detox be like?

Treatment for most begins at our medically monitored detox center where withdrawal symptoms can be safely monitored by medical staff 24 hours a day. Ā Medications may be provided as an option to ensure this process is as comfortable as possible under the supervision of our medical director, Dr. Michael Rountree.

If a family member is willing to get help, can I just drive them to Harmony?

It is recommended that an admission is scheduled by a Harmony specialist so that a screening can take place and any financial considerations, such current insurance benefits, can be provided.

What can I bring to treatment?

We have a list of common items that are allowed and not allowed by our program. See our listĀ of current prohibited items.

Will I be in a lock-down ward?

No. Harmony is a voluntary program.

Can I have visitors and make phone calls?

We are not allowing visitations at this time. Clients may make and receive phone calls starting on their fourth day of treatment.

Will I have a roommate?

Harmony Recovery is a peer-driven addiction treatment program and we believe in community is a core component to success. Clients in our residential level of care they will share a cabin with one roommate.

Can you accommodate a vegetarian diet?

Absolutely! In addition to delicious, hot vegetarian entrees, we have the best salad bar in Estes Park, which is part of every lunch and dinner.

How long does inpatient or outpatient treatment last?

Harmony Recovery provides a variable length-of stay-driven by the American Society of Addiction Medicine criteria. Treatment is not determined by the number of days, but rather by the needs of each individual client.

Do you treat anything besides drug and alcohol addiction?

Many people who come to Harmony Recovery seeking treatment for drug or alcohol addiction are also diagnosed with mental health conditions such as depression, grief, anxiety or post-traumatic stress disorder. The combination of addiction and mental health conditions, known as "co-occurring disorders," is common. Our team of medical staff, psychologists, and counselors meet to help clients better understand this dynamic as a part of overall treatment.

I like to work out. Can I do that while I'm in treatment at Harmony Recovery?

Recovery is a holistic approach, and this includes physical health. Both indoor gym equipment and walking trails are accessible during treatment. Other recreational activities are also on campus such as a frisbee golf course.

Are Harmony Recovery programs accredited?

Yes. Our programs are also licensed by the Colorado Office of Behavioral Health. We are accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Will I get individual sessions with an addiction counselor?

Most of therapeutic sessions are conducted in a group therapy setting. Individual sessions may occur with your counselor or various members of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
